Please check the size of your receiver by measuring across the opening to make sure you ordered the correct hitch cover size. A 2" hitch cover will fit into a 2-1/2" receiver but the pin alignment is 3/8" off. It sound like you have a 2-1/2" receiver and ordered a 2" hitch cover. Contact us so we can replace it with the correct size.
Yes, you can! Simply remove the quick release detent by pressing both sides and taking it out. Then, insert and secure a standard 5/8" hitch pin.
